How many potatoes does it take to produce a kilo of chips?
Approximately 3 kilos.

What type of oil is used to create the Yum Yum products?
Yum Yum uses canola non hydrogenated oil. This oil allows us to preserve the products’ good taste and does not contain any Trans Fat. Hydrogenated canola oil is one of the vegetable oils with the least saturated fat content.

Do Yum Yum products contain any gluten?
The following Yum Yum products contain no traces of gluten:

  • - VIVA : all flavours
  • - Chips : Regular, Sour cream, Salt & Vinegar, Sweet Cheddar, Cage aux Sports (Combo) and Old Style (kettle)
  • - Snacks : Cheese Sticks, Corn Puff and Onion Rings


Why the bag of chips is never filled to the top?
Because air injected in the bag protects the chips during transport.  This way, you can enjoy an intact chip at home!

Since the bags are not filled to the top, consequently shouldn’t the price be adjusted accordingly?
The bags are filled by weight, and not by volume.  Thus, the price of the product is calculated by weight.

Where can I find a product’s expiration date?
You can find the expiration date on all Yum Yum products the upper right corner of the bag. It is formed by two letters, for the month, as well as two numbers for the date.

Are preservatives used in Yum Yum products?
There aren’t any preservatives in the chips themselves. However, the seasonings may contain some.
